The Challenge
Global Freight Solutions faced a significant bottleneck in their operations due to manual shipping coordination. Daily, a team of coordinators manually tracked shipments, updated multiple spreadsheets, and liaised with carriers, which was not only time-consuming but error-prone. Each coordinator spent hours cross-referencing spreadsheets, logging updates, and ensuring alignment across different parties, often leading to miscommunications and outdated information being actioned. These inefficiencies were costly, delaying shipments and causing client dissatisfaction. Existing SaaS solutions could not handle the bespoke coordination requirements and diverse data sources, leading to coordination silos and inefficiencies.

The Solution
We crafted a bespoke automation solution using n8n, Supabase, and OpenAI to alleviate these bottlenecks. The system ingests data from various sources through n8n orchestrations, moving it through defined pipelines that automate the logging of shipment data. The custom LLM prompts built into OpenAI act as a sophisticated filter that securely parses the data, structurally audits the information, and updates all relevant databases in real-time. The solution includes real-time Slack triggers for human-in-the-loop verifications, and any unresolved discrepancies are flagged for quick resolution. The automation syncs all critical shipment data back to the CRM seamlessly, maintaining up-to-date records.
